Duties:
A. Teaching and managing student learning:
Teach Pre-A, AS and A Level Art and Design course focus on graphic and fine art area.
Guide students to build the skills related to the subjects to support their art projects.
Cooperate with Academic Coordinator evaluate students’ portfolio quality, assist in organizing exhibitions and related academic activities both inside and outside the school.
Have a secure knowledge and understanding of the progression of teaching subject and relevant examinations.
All secondary school curriculum and assessment guidelines.
Set appropriate and demanding expectations for students’ learning and motivation. Set clear targets for students' learning, building on prior attainment and experiences.
Ensure effective teaching of whole classes, groups and individuals so that teaching objectives are met, momentum and challenge are maintained, and best use is made of teaching time.
Set high expectations for students' behavior, including management of electronic, establishing and maintaining a good standard of discipline through well-focused teaching, and through positive and productive relationships.
Pastoral Care and Holistic learning activities for student including but not limited to Core Class, Character Development and Moral Education, Residence Halls, Cocurricular Activities, Field Trips, and Saturday Programmers.
Mark and monitor students’ class and homework providing constructive oral and written feedback, setting targets for students’ progress.
Understanding and compliance with all Child Protection Policies for China, International Schools foundation
B. Relations with parents and wider community:
Know how to prepare and present informative reports to parents.
Recognize that learning takes place outside the school context and provide opportunities to develop students' understanding by relating their learning to real and work-related examples.
C. Managing own performance and development:
Understand the need to take responsibility for their own professional development and to keep up to date with research and developments in pedagogy and in the subjects they teach.
Understand their professional responsibilities in relation to school policies, guidelines and practices.
Set a good example to the students they teach in their presentation and their personal conduct.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Holder of bachelor’s degree or above of Fine Art/ Graphic and teaching certificate or license.
Have minimum 2 years of Art and design teaching experience of international Art curriculum (Btec/Edexcel/CIE/)
Minimum 2 years of full-time teaching experience in a school setting, experience at the level of the A Level curriculum is a plus.
Strong teamwork, cross-cultural communication ability, fluent in English and can teach in bilingual.
