Key Responsibilities
Planning and Teaching:
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons based on the EYFS curriculum that cater to the developmental needs of children in the Early Years setting.
Ensure the environment is safe, inclusive, and conducive to learning, encouraging children’s curiosity and creativity.
Foster a positive atmosphere where children feel valued, respected, and motivated to explore and learn.
Child Development:
Observe and assess children’s development and learning, ensuring progress is accurately recorded and tracked.
Provide individual support where necessary to ensure all children reach their full potential.
Encourage children to develop self-regulation, independence, and social skills through planned activities and everyday interactions.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with colleagues in the EYFS team to create a consistent and cohesive learning environment.
Build strong relationships with parents and caregivers, providing regular updates on children’s progress and well-being.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a well-organized and stimulating classroom environment that promotes active learning.
Apply positive behavior management strategies to support children in developing respect for others and classroom routines.
Ensure the health and safety of children, adhering to school policies and safeguarding regulations.
Professional Development:
Stay up to date with current trends and best practices in early childhood education.
Take part in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Degree or Equivalent:
A degree in Education, Early Childhood Studies, or a related field.
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching certification.
Experience:
Proven experience in teaching EYFS, ideally with children aged 3-5 years old.
A sound understanding of the EYFS framework and its application in a classroom setting.
Experience with assessment methods for EYFS and tracking children’s development.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
A creative and flexible approach to teaching and problem-solving.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
A genuine passion for working with young children and helping them grow and develop.
Desirable Qualifications:
Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) or a similar relevant qualification.
Experience with planning and delivering phonics, literacy, and numeracy activities in the EYFS.
Knowledge of SEN (Special Educational Needs) and strategies to support diverse learners in the EYFS.
