Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified High School English/Theater Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be capable of teaching AP level English courses, coaching students in writing, and leading theater instruction. The candidate must take on additional responsibilities as a student advisor and dorm supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach high school English classes, including AP-level coursework.
• Develop and lead theater and performance-based classes and productions.
• Coach students in writing across various formats, supporting both academic and creative writing skills.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles and needs.
• Serve as a student advisor and fulfill dorm supervisor duties as required.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with academic standards.
• Participate in curriculum development, faculty meetings, and school events.
• Foster an inclusive, respectful, and positive classroom environment that promotes student growth and engagement.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in English, Theater, or a related field (required).
• Teaching certification (preferred).
• Experience teaching AP-level courses and working in theater education.
• Proven ability to coach students in writing and support them in developing advanced writing skills.
• Willingness to take on extra duties as a student advisor and dorm supervisor.
